Holcoglossum kimballianum : Orchid Species InformationGenus name : Holcoglossum
Species : kimballianum
A medium sized vandacious species from Thailand, Burma and China. It requires intermediate to warm conditions, although I have known it grow and flower in cool conditions, but growth was very slow and flowers small. It requires bright light and high humidity, often doing better when grown near the glass. Water should be given through the winter months along with humidity and good air movement. The 2” flowers are produced on an axillary inflorescence and are long lived and fragrant. The flowers are white to pinkish with a mauve lip, and appear from autumn to early winter.
Specific Epithet : Kimball’s Holcoglossum, an American orchid grower
