Oh dear, sorry, I didn't realise it had been so long since I last logged in.
I'm not sure about anything at the moment Trey, except that I shall be at the London show on the 20th.
I didn't even know until the morning if I would get to the Cheltenham show on Saturday. In the end the thought of the bargains I picked up last year overcame my good sense (what good sense, I hear you ask) and my intentions not to buy anything and I found myself in the hall with my purse in my hand and getting close to empty. Of course I went home with 2 carrier bags full of plants! But what bargains - a huge Stanhopea tigrina; a massive Coelogyne cristata; a slightly smaller Stanhopea hernandezii - all for £5 each - and 3 Pleione hybrids at £3 each. There were a lot of large cymbidium hybrids too, standards and miniatures, all multi-growth plants - big potsfull - at £5 each, but I couldn't really spare the money for what I'd already bought so maybe next year - or Bristol (I've never been... Yet...) as it's after payday. _________________ Debbie

My cat hasn't been well, and she has to come with me so I can't impose a 3 hour drive to Anil's on her - and then leave her on her own all day - if she's still unwell. She has improved since last Friday though, so fingers crossed. _________________ Debbie

Hi Debbie,
It was realy nice to meet you, sorry I went all shy on you I can get a bit tongue tied at times.
Did you buy anything in the end or was it more of a browsing trip.
But most importantly and I forgot to ask, how is the cat now? Much better I hope.
Tom
Sorry you couldn't make it Maybe at P'Borough?
I bought a few plants, but I didn't think it wsa as good as last year with less vendors and visitors and higher prices
I ended up going all 3 days too _________________ So many Orchids, so little time.

Hi Freyja, don't worry, I know exactly what you mean, I get the same thing myself. Frustrating isn't it!
We took lots of pictures for the website - if only I can find time to research their care and upload the details - but I only bought 2 miniatures. To be honest, I didn't see much there of interest. I agree with you, it was a rather poor show compared to previous years. Too many stands with no plants, and a lot of the regular exhibitors missing. I wonder if that's down to the current economic situation or to DEFRA's new charging rates.
Ellie is much better now, thanks. A week of rice cooked in Bovril and mixed with a bit of lightly poached chicken did the trick. _________________ Debbie

Not to the Kent show Tom, and I doubt if I can make Bristol either - lack of money, car insurance due end of this month, and you now need a mortgage to fill the tank! _________________ Debbie
