I've not heard that 'cure'. I'd better start drinking it! I've never liked Irnbru so it will be a question of holding my nose and swallowing! But if it stops the little so-and-sos biting it will be worth it! _________________ Silver

Honestly Silver,
Have a look at the lable the next time you go shopping, niether myself or Mark got bitten and he was drinking bru as if it was going out of fashion.
This was the year before last and we were in Glencoe in late August for 10 days. Lots of midges about but we were fine.
I've got to admit I not so keen on bru so intead used the Avon stuff that was recomened, I got bitten twice. _________________ So many Orchids, so little time.

Hi Freyja, and welcome. Don't know if we've met, but it's possible we've passed each other in Lawrence's greenhouse.
Nice tip about Irn Bru, I'm allergic to a lot of things that bite so I'll be giving that a try in the summer. _________________ Debbie

Hi Debbie,
Oh so you got to Laurence as well? (or is that 'Laurence got to you?') I have only managed to get my Husband to drive me over to LH once
So most of my stuff comes from him via post or shows
If you were there last summer and saw the silver grey dog with the curley tail (and no Tom you know very well that that wasn't me )
then yes we did meet _________________ So many Orchids, so little time.

I know I went to LH's early in the year because it was at the end of the week when we had all the snow, and I have a vague recollection of cake and a large bill, but I'll be damned if I can remember whether or not I managed to get there again later in the year. I curse my memory, I'll just have to start writing everything down. _________________ Debbie

So thats both of use who had the cake and a large bill
(and yes Bill I think we might have noticed if you were hidden in between the Catt's and Vanda's)
I went we had the 'heat wave' so it was much later in the year. I do hope I can get back to one of his open weekends this year as I do like to see what I'm buying instead of just off a list. _________________ So many Orchids, so little time.

Damn! We haven't seen a photo yet though Bill, so that could have been you lurking among the dendrobiums...
I realised there was one sure-fire way to find out when I'd been to LH's, so I checked my bank statement. Yep, we were there at his August open weekend, on the Saturday. The memory may fail, but the bank statement doesn't lie - not about my orchid purchases anyway. Good thing I don't need to hide them. _________________ Debbie

I can't make it this time, but that's probably just as well considering how much I've spent on coal in the past 2 months! Note to self: I must not buy any more orchids until after I've moved; I must not buy any more... Except, the Cheltenham show is on soon, and then there's London... I must not... I must, I must! _________________ Debbie
